Sincerely Lenique: Self-reflection And Confidence In Who You Are
Looking back at 2017 it's had ups and downs, but I wouldn't change anything. I've learnt so much from last year. I've grown as a businesswoman, willing to take more risks and step out of my comfort zone.
I've learnt it's ok to fail and get back up again. I've learnt to put my faith in God in all that I do. I've often been asked what keeps me going in business, to be so focused and tenacious in all that I do. It's simple, my Christian faith and walk in God.
There are times when I've wanted to throw in the towel, but that small voice tells me to keep on going. I owe my design capabilities and wanting to start my own jewellery business to God.
God-given Talent
If it wasn't for that time when I was upstairs in my room. I was staying with my grandma at the time and I was writing down something and my pen dropped on the floor. I went to pick it up and had an out of body experience.
I saw a dove above me and it dropped something from its mouth into my head. Instantly I jumped up and said "I'm going to be a jewellery designer" and ran down the stairs to tell my grandma, who replied "oh ok, that's good".
I was on cloud nine. It never dawned on me the importance of that life-changing experience and I often shy away from talking about it in public. I know that I owe all that I've achieved so far and what's in store all to God.
So you got to know a little about me! If I had the chance to go back in time and give advice to the younger Lenique Louis, I would simply tell her to be authentic and never change who you are.
When you first start out in business you often get pulled into different directions and you can lose your identity.
It's taken me close to 7 years to realise that my brand name is Lenique Louis and everything about myself and the brand is unique. My style of jewellery and brand identity is not going to be to everyone's liking, and that's OK!
I run a luxury niche jewellery brand, designing beautiful statement jewellery, for women and men that want to stand out from the crowd.
What's Next
I have so much going on right now, it's so exciting! As previously mentioned I am unique in all I do.
I have an abstract art background and will be implementing more of my artwork into my designs and brand campaign artwork. I draw and paint and have always excelled in that arena.
However I’ve neglected it in my work. Not anymore! Going forward when you think of the brand Lenique Louis you will think of the tag ‘Handcrafted Perfection Jewellery’ Handmade in England.
Until next time, God Bless You!
